Are you leaving school next year and wondering what to do next?
Come along to Bramcote College Sixth Form's Open Evening and see for yourself why we were rated 'Good' in all areas by Ofsted earlier in the year.
Thursday 9th November, 6-8pm.
If you can't make it but would still like to look around, please get in touch via email, we're happy to arrange an alternative time for a visit.
The AS and A-Level results become available to students on Thursday 17th August 2017
GCSE results become available to students on Thursday 24th August 2017.
All results will be available for collection from Bramcote College.
On the 17th August, Bramcote College will be open for Year 13 students to collect their A Level (A2) results from 8am. Year 12 students can collect their AS Level results from 9am.
On the 24th August, GCSE results can be collected from 9am.
Results will not be issued to students prior to the times agreed, even if they arrive early.
If your son or daughter is unable to come to Bramcote College to collect their results on either 17th or 24th August, they may leave a stamped addressed envelope with the Exams Department at Bramcote College prior to the end of term and results will be posted out on this date. Alternatively, someone may collect your son or daughter’s results on their behalf, but please note they must inform the college by providing a signed letter detailing who they wish to pick up their results. The person picking up the results must bring a form of photographic ID with them.
Any uncollected results statements for which we have not received a stamped addressed envelope will be retained and will be available from the College from the start of the autumn term in September.
Results statements provided to students will be produced in school from the results received from the examination boards. Please note that examination boards do not provide result slips.
When you receive your results, please check them very carefully. If anything appears to be missing or you have any queries regarding your exam results, please do not hesitate to contact us. To avoid errors on your certificates when they are issued please check the spelling of your name is correct, and that your name is your correct legal name.
We will also provide on results day confirmation of the certificate collection date.
Our next meeting (9th May) will now be held at Holme Pierrepont Conference Centre from 8.00am-10.00am, not at Bramcote College as previously advertised. This will primarily be a planning meeting, with offshoot presentations on design and D2N2 updates.
Please find our latest Ofsted report attached below. As you will see from the report, the overall judgement was that we are providing a good standard of education for your children, and that all key aspects, namely Leadership, Teaching and Learning, Personal Development, Behaviour and Safety, and Outcomes for Pupils are good. It is very gratifying that the hard work and dedication of teachers, support staff, Directors and, of course, students is recognised in such a positive way. We are delighted that inspectors speak so positively about the progress we have made, and are continuing to make.
Inspectors have recognised much of the excellent work that takes place at the college. They confirmed that we provide strong support to all students, noting that students themselves say ‘we are all seen as individuals’ and that ‘students are overwhelmingly positive about their experience in the sixth form’. The quality of teaching is also recognised as a strength, and something that we have worked very hard to improve to such high levels. Leadership at all levels is praised, including the leadership shown by Directors, as well as senior and middle leaders across the board. The wonderful extra-curricular opportunities that our students can access are also highlighted in the report.
Inspectors praise the ‘culture of ambition’ at the college. They are confident that our students make good progress across the curriculum. They said that students are given excellent support and advice to plan their next steps after College, and all go on to suitable destinations because ‘staff give good advice to students before they join the sixth form and then support them well during their time at the college’. Students themselves told Inspectors ‘they recognise the role that college leaders play in ensuring their progress and were appreciative of the support they receive’. They saw on the inspection that students continue to develop English and Maths skills well and benefit from a ‘broad and balanced’ curriculum.
We are delighted and proud that our students’ conduct is described as ‘exemplary’, and that they are confident learners. We are also very pleased that the work that our team does to promote personal development and students’ personal development and safety is praised so highly, and that the work we do with our bursary programme is highlighted. I would also like to thank all the parents who completed surveys for the Inspectors, which were overwhelmingly positive and supportive.
We would like to reassure parents that we will use this report as a springboard to continue our improvement – we have the highest aspirations for the students of Bramcote College, and we will build on this success in the coming months and years. Our area to improve from Ofsted is to deliver ‘exceptional progress’ for our students and we are all committed to ensuring that we meet this target with all of our students.
