From around Bramcote College

Open Evening 2023

If you're leaving school in summer 2024, what do you want to be doing this time next year?

Come along to our open evening on October 5th and find out more about BC6F. You can find our why we were rated 'Good' by Ofsted in all areas and discuss your hopes and dreams for the future and find out how we can help you in achieving them.

If you want a smaller, more personal 6th Form experience, with teachers who will know you and how you work best, in order to achieve great outcomes, then come along to our Open Evening and find out about us and the courses we offer. The evening will give you a chance to talk with teachers and current students, as well as meeting our 6th Form leadership and pastoral team, so you can find out why we are proud to describe ourselves as 'small but mighty'.

Although the majority of our students come from our Trust schools, Bramcote College and Alderman White, we also welcome students from a range of other local schools every year and even further afield, as we have international students in most years at BC6F, resulting in a great mix of students in every year group.

We look forward to seeing you on October 5th (6:00pm to 8:00pm) however, if you can't make it on that evening and want to find out more about BC6F please feel free to phone or email and let us know when you can come in!

BC6F Open Evening

What do our former students say about life at BC6F?

I will be forever grateful for my time at Bramcote college.
"My time at Bramcote college was not like the average college years that most students experience, due to a certain pandemic. However, I feel I was still able to have a great couple of years and this wouldn’t have been possible without my friends and the teachers around me.
As BC6F is a small college I feel as though this benefitted me individually cause I was able to get help whenever I needed it and it allowed for me to approach teachers more easily. I will be forever grateful for my time at Bramcote college."

University wasn't where I wanted to go and Bramcote supported me with that decision.
"Coming to Bramcote College Sixth Form gave me the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends, as well opening new doors for my future. I knew University wasn't where I wanted to go and Bramcote supported me with that decision, helping me to use and develop my skills and after studying I became a member of staff at BC!"
Tasha

I don’t think I would’ve got the grades I got if it wasn’t for the teachers going the extra mile!
"
I had a very good experience at BC6F, the teachers were always willing to help and support students
I liked how closely knit together the college was. This benefited me as I felt I could ask any question and seek support where needed.
I don’t think I would’ve got the grades I got if it wasn’t for the teachers going the extra mile!
Also shoutout to the sport department, you absolute legends!!"
Harry

I knew for sure that I'd made the right decisions
"I loved my time at BC6F, both from an academic and more general point of view. The small college size means everyone knows everyone else and there's a real friendly sense of community built up. The staff were so so supportive and approachable (both teaching and leadership) and I honestly wouldn't be where I am today without their help. The whole UCAS process can be so overwhelming but the teachers here were great about making it all make sense and being there to deal with last-minute panics! They were always around for 1-1 meetings and the additional support meant I knew for sure that I'd made the right decisions. A massive thank you to BC6F!"

I could not have taken the path I am on now without BC6F.
"My first year of college was sadly disrupted by the pandemic, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my time at BC6F. Staff were very supportive during the lockdowns and related disruption. The community of students as well as teachers is personal due to the size, which allowed teaching to be tailored to the needs of students. It was difficult to do A levels without having done GCSE exams, but with the hard work of the teachers I was able to achieve grades I am incredibly proud of. I could not have taken the path I am on now without BC6F."
Alex

Thank you Bramcote College for believing in me.
"I’m so thankful for my time at BC6F!! I never thought university was for me, however the support from my teachers really pushed me to believe in myself and achieve what I never thought I could. I really enjoyed my time at Bramcote college due to the small environment and family feel from the staff and friends. So once again thank you Bramcote College for believing in me!"

The best decision I could have made for myself...I will remember the people and the experience forever.
"Coming to Bramcote College was the best decision I could have made for myself. I always felt as though I was always in the back of teachers’ minds when they planned lessons - you’re a person here, not a number! BC is run for individuals by a team, and the opportunities I’ve had in the lower school too have taken me towards considering teaching. Such was the attraction that my shadow is probably etched into a chair in the common room, given how much time I spent there … voluntarily! I will remember the people and the experience forever."
